I received my B.A. in Architecture from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. In the meantime, I had been to ULB Institut Supérieur d’Architecture Victor Horta in Brussels as an Erasmus exchange student. After graduation, I continued my studies at Università Iuav di Venezia/IUAV for MSc in 'Economics and Techniques for the Conservation of Architectural and Environmental Heritage. I wrote a master’s thesis under Dr. Enzo Siviero entitled ' Importance of Pedestrianization for Urban Regeneration. Assessing New Bridge Solutions for the Golden Horn'.
The name of the Mimar Sinan University comes from Grand Architect Sinan, who has ever seen compared to Michelangelo, his contemporary in the west. Michelangelo and his plans for St. Peter's Basilica in Rome were well known in Istanbul, since Leonardo da Vinci and he had been invited, in 1502 and 1505 respectively, by the Sublime Porte to submit plans for a bridge spanning the Golden Horn. One of Leonardo's many unrealized projects was a proposed bridge in Istanbul. All these remarkable, astonishing, inspiring artistic and engineering challenges were, no doubt, a huge impetus for me to realize the importance of the relations and cultural exchanges for design.
During this period, I had international work experiences, I was a part of well-known architectural design groups and got in touch with international communities as well. My working experience with cross-functional, international teams has taught me the importance of building trusted relationships and inspiring a shared project vision. Among other activities, I was responsible for preparing full complement of construction documents for high- and mid-rise commercial, residential, and mixed-use properties also participating in the design of the architecture and interior department.
